Small flow control valve

Small flow control valve is also called boiler feed pump recirculation valve. In the power plant, it is installed at the outlet of the feed water pump and connected to the deaerator. The boiler feed pump draws water from the deaerator and sends it to the boiler. In order to prevent the feed pump from overheating and cavitation, the flow rate of the feed pump must not be less than a specified safety flow, that is, a small flow. When the flow of boiler feed water is very small, such as when the steam turbine trips, it is necessary to open the small flow valve in time to return a part of high-pressure water from the pump outlet to the deaerator, so as to ensure the safe operation of the feed water pump. The system in which the valve is located is called the recirculation system.
